Work from home Full-time role Hiring

About Remote People At Remote People, we're building the infrastructure to power borderless teams. By handling global payroll, benefits, taxes, and compliance, our technology enables businesses to hire anyone anywhere compliantly at the push of a button. If you're interested in adding to our vision of enabling people to work in dream jobs, for every company, and from anywhere in the world, apply now! We're committed to building a global, diverse team representing different and varied backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, civil or family status, age, or disability. Being part of Remote People means being part of a growing, international family. We're seeking an AI Engineer with solid foundations in LLMs and applied machine learning, a product mindset, and a drive to grow fast in a high-ownership environment. What you'll be doing You'll be part of our Data & AI team, working closely with engineering squads and business stakeholders across a remote-first organisation spread across Asia and Europe. Your primary focus is building and shipping AI features that solve real problems — LLM-based solutions, RAG pipelines, AI-assisted workflows — integrated into our product and internal systems. You'll collaborate asynchronously and across time zones as a matter of course. AI tools are central to how we work: you'll use them to accelerate your own development, while also being someone who builds them.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy LLM-based solutions and RAG architectures that solve real business problems Contribute to the end-to-end lifecycle of AI features: problem framing, data preparation, modeling, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring Work with existing data pipelines for preprocessing, feature extraction, and model inference Integrate AI solutions into the company's cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance Collaborate with cross-functional squads to embed AI capabilities into products and internal tools Use AI coding tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) as a standard part of your development workflow Contribute to identifying where AI can add measurable value to business processes and products

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years in a Software Development role, including at least 1 year in AI/ML engineering Proven experience building and deploying LLM-based or RAG solutions in a production environment Strong programming skills in Python, including hands-on experience with async patterns and FastAPI Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI coding tools in a production engineering context Understanding of how AI solutions are integrated into cloud-based systems (preferably AWS) Proficiency in database management, data wrangling, and working with distributed systems Solid foundation in algorithm design, statistics, and data science Ability to communicate effectively in a remote environment — clear written communication, reliable async collaboration Preferred Skills Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools (CI/CD for ML, experiment tracking, monitoring) Experience with vector databases and semantic search (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate, Elasticsearch) Exposure to AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain or similar Experience working on a SaaS platform, or at least a custom-built product Self-directed and curious: you take ownership of your tasks, seek feedback proactively, and drive your own growth without waiting to be pushed What it's like working at Remote People Our service & product.
