Android Developer; remote

Position: Android Developer (remote) Senior Android Developer (remote) Cognizant is looking for an experienced, innovative Senior Android Developer to grow with our mobile development team! As a Senior Android developer, you will be involved from conception to launch creating highly engaging, technologically sound and aesthetically impressive mobile applications for users ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, collaborative, geographically distributed team. We seek an expert engineer who values the “team”, drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the status quo with creative mobile solutions. Candidates for this role should have experience working within a financial organization and display an understanding and appreciation for the complexities therein. Experience with digital platforms, distributed systems, and Cloud technologies is also critical. Experience with in a continuously changing environment that influences the banking experience for clients and employees, including driving consistent frameworks and methodologies to support consistency is critical for this role. Attention to detail and an ability to convey relevant information at summary and detailed levels is a key factor to success in this role. Requires experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies. Work Authorization

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for creating and maintaining Android applications, including developing new features, debugging existing code, and ensuring the applications are optimized for the best user experience.
• Must understand the Android platform, be able to write code in Java, and be familiar with Android development tools.
• Additionally, collaborate with other developers and designers to create a cohesive user experience.
• Must also be able to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the development process.
• Must be able to work with other teams to ensure that the application meets the user's expectations. With these responsibilities in mind, Android developers must be able to work efficiently and effectively to create applications that are both user-friendly and reliable.
• Must also be able to think critically, solve complex problems, and stay up-to-date on the latest Android technologies. With these skills and responsibilities, Android developers are essential for creating unique applications.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Android development
• Expertise in the attached technology:
• Java/Kotlin
• Android SDK/Studio
• Android Debug Bridge (ADB)
• SQLite, Android emulators

Applications will be accepted until: 8/23/2024 Salary and Other Compensation The annual salary for this position is between $47,975K – $133 00K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
