Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Data Entry Clerk to join our team and help us process and manage large volumes of data with accuracy and efficiency. As a key member of our data management team, you'll be responsible for transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems, creating spreadsheets, verifying data, and performing regular backups to ensure data preservation.

Key Responsibilities

* Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners

• Type in data provided directly from customers with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes, using MS Office Word and Excel
• Verify data by comparing it to source documents to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Update existing data to reflect changes and updates
• Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested by team members or management
• Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation and prevent loss

Qualifications

* Proven experience as a data entry clerk, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role

• Fast typing skills, with a minimum of 60 words per minute; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
• Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets, including MS Office Word and Excel
• Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
• Basic understanding of databases and data management principles
