Experienced Data Entry Specialist – Healthcare Billing and Insurance Claims Processing

We're seeking an experienced Data Entry Specialist to join our Physician Billing Office team, working remotely from the tri-state area. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data entry, charge capture, and insurance claims processing. Job Summary:

As a Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for accurately and efficiently entering all charges, payments, adjustments, and refunds into our EPIC System. Your attention to detail and ability to work independently will be essential in meeting departmental productivity guidelines and ensuring the highest level of data integrity. You'll also be responsible for:

• Accurately entering all data in a timely manner
• Meeting departmental productivity guidelines
• Reconciling un-reconciled batches within 24 to 48 hours of receipt
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies, including credit variances, refund variances, and missing EOB forms
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of billing requirements for third-party insurance carriers, including Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, HMO, and other managed care contracts
• Utilizing various databases and software applications, including EPIC
• Collaborating with team members to ensure seamless data entry and claims processing
• Participating in proactive communication and problem-solving to drive team performance and excellence

Essential Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED

• Experience with computerized medical billing systems, preferably EPIC
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding, as well as regional third-party payer requirements
• Experience in physician or hospital billing settings is desirable

Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of regional third-party payer requirements

• Experience with data entry and claims processing in a healthcare setting
• Familiarity with EPIC system and other software applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
