Job Summary

As a Principal Engineer (DevOps Data Platform) at careerzynith, you will play a critical role in driving the company's DevOps strategy, developing tooling, practices, and culture that enable business-wide requirements, including visibility, flexibility, accessibility, security, and cost efficiency. You will lead the DevOps approach, establishing and authorizing best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment techniques.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the DevOps strategy, covering planning, development of tools, practices, and culture

  • Establish and authorize DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment techniques
  • Design and manage infrastructure as code, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar, to provision and manage assets across cloud environments
  • Execute and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar, ensuring fast and reliable application deployment
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure teams are adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and practices, identifying areas for improvement, automation, and innovation to enhance deployment consistency and accuracy
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for their adoption within the company's DevOps environment
  • Coach and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning

Required Qualifications

* Experience working in public cloud environments, GCP (e.g.), Azure, AWS, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating asset provisioning and deployment
  • Active involvement in CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or similar
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex DevOps stage issues and provide effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and partners

Preferred Qualifications

* Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions) to ensure application performance and system health

  • Experience with security best practices in DevOps, including vulnerability assessment, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices
  • Experience with Generative AI or potentially Gitlab
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers, is a plus
