Experienced Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist - Remote 2nd Shift Opportunity

Overview and Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our CPAP Centralized Care Team as a Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for new customers, providing support and guidance on patient care and third-party reimbursement. You will be responsible for processing new orders, responding to questions, and resolving issues in a timely manner to ensure patient, referral, and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide exceptional customer service to patients, referral sources, and employees through phone, email, and in-person interactions

  • Process new orders, including collecting patient and referral source information, inputting data into our proprietary system, and printing tickets
  • Conduct insurance verification and eligibility for services/products
  • Collect co-pays and deductible amounts
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current products and services, Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
  • Maintain accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data entry
  • Manage all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls and receiving faxes
  • Obtain authorization and qualification documentation
  • Prepare complete and accurate files for the Billing Department
  • Process work orders to field locations and coordinate timely fulfillment of products and services ordered
  • Provide product/service information and education by answering questions and offering assistance
  • Perform thorough review and Quality Assurance for medical necessity and documentation requirements of payors and regulatory bodies
  • Work extensively with our proprietary system, eIntake
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED equivalent required

  • One to three years of related prior work experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in the medical field and administrative record management
  • Strong customer service background
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to interpret a variety of communications in English (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual)
  • Knowledge of medical billing practices and of billing reimbursement
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Medical terminology
  • Multi-tasking and attention to detail
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
  • Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees, and patients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with medical billing software and systems

  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance regulations
  • Certification in medical billing or a related field
