Fractional Chief Marketing Officer — Red Light Therapy

About Body Balance System Body Balance System manufactures the OvationULT, a commercial-grade red light therapy bed installed at Four Seasons, Bellagio, Aria, Canyon Ranch, and Fairmont properties. We're 13+ years into commercial red light therapy deployments, FDA registered, NRTL certified, and one of the only red light therapy manufacturers that make our products in the US. We're scaling B2B distribution across medspa, chiropractic, hospitality, gym, recovery, and longevity verticals, and we need a senior operator who already speaks this language. The Role This is not a generalist fractional CMO seat. You will direct the full marketing strategy and translate it into pipeline, distribution, and closed revenue. You will work directly with the COO and have the authority to call the shots on positioning, channel mix, and budget decisions. What you'll own: Lead generation strategy: you will create the machine that fills the top of the funnel and results in filling the sales pipeline Marketing direction: brand positioning, ICP messaging, paid media (Google + Meta), content, PR, events, influencer & big brand partnership potential Channel marketing build-out: wholesale, independent reps, dealer networks, trade show strategy Cross-functional alignment with internal marketing, sales, ops, finance, and the COO What You Must Have: Non-negotiable: Red light therapy or PBM industry experience: you have sold, marketed, or led GTM at a manufacturer or distributor in this space. Resumes without this will not move forward. Experience in owning lead generation strategy and budget decisions for a PBM manufacturer or distributor, with a proven track record of performance. Direct marketing and/or sales experience into BBS verticals: medspa, chiropractic, hospitality/luxury spa, gym, recovery, or longevity. At least 3 of these. Strongly preferred: Full-stack revenue leadership: you have run both marketing and sales as one motion, not siloed Built or scaled a dealer/independent rep network in wellness equipment HubSpot proficiency (we run our pipeline there with no plans to migrate) Existing relationships with medspa groups, hospitality wellness directors, chiro/recovery franchise leaders Closed enterprise B2B deals in commercial wellness equipment with $30K-$100K+ ASPs and 30-90 day sales cycles Understanding of FDA regulatory positioning for Class II devices (helpful for messaging credibility) What You Will NOT Be Doing Generic "fractional CMO best practices" decks. We need strategy development, create execution visibility and accountability for our team, and judgment, not frameworks. Telling us to migrate off HubSpot or tools shuffling Spending the first 60 days on "discovery." You've been in this industry, and we need you to hit the ground running. Engagement Structure Fractional retainer, 15-25 hours per week, 6-month initial commitment with renewal expectation. Compensation includes a base retainer monthly or hourly rate, plus a commission performance component tied to revenue milestones.
