Freelance Illustrator – Wine Labels (Contract)
This project seeks a senior freelance illustrator to create two visually unified front-label artworks for a new wine brand inspired by Greek mythology and the goddess Alectrona. The labels, for a red GSM blend and a Sauvignon Blanc, must function as a diptych—distinct yet complementary—so that when placed side by side, they form a cohesive pair. Each label should depict the goddess Alectrona in a unique atmosphere: full solar radiance for the GSM and cool dawn light for the Sauvignon Blanc. The illustrations must share key design features and layout, differentiate through color palettes, and avoid cartoonish, fantasy, or ornate styles. The desired aesthetic is painted, timeless, and evocative, with a strong sense of mood and movement. Detailed palette, composition, and mood references will be provided, along with specific requirements for artistic style and deliverables. Deliverables
- Two front-label illustrations forming a matched diptych, each depicting the goddess Alectrona in the specified lighting and mood
- Consistent design features and layout across both labels, with distinct color palettes for each
- Layered PSD or AI files for both labels
- CMYK print-ready PDFs for production
- Combined diptych image for marketing purposes
- Adherence to provided palette, compositional, and mood guidelines
- Potential for additional back label and marketing materials in a second project phase Requirements
- Senior-level illustration experience, preferably with product packaging or label design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating painted, timeless, and atmospheric illustration styles
- Ability to interpret and visually translate mythology and mood into compelling artwork
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator, with experience preparing print-ready files
- Meticulous attention to detail, composition, and color harmony
- Ability to deliver layered source files and high-resolution print assets
- Availability for prompt communication and timely delivery of assets
