Job Description 🌐 Kubernetes Engineer – Weekday Shift 📍 Location: Remote (U.S.) 🔒 Clearance: Eligible for Secret Clearance 🕓 Schedule: Weekday Shift | 5:00 PM – 12:30 AM ET or 12:30 AM – 8:00 AM ET 🏢 Employer: Rackner 🚀 Lead with Impact As a Kubernetes Engineer (Weekday Shift), you'll ensure that Air Force Platform One and Air Mobility Command maintain uninterrupted global communication and mission readiness. You'll operate in a fast-paced, high-trust environment; supporting live systems that empower real-time collaboration for U.S. defense teams worldwide. Your expertise will build resilience, security, and scalability into the core of national operations. ⚙️ What You'll Do Engineer and optimize Kubernetes clusters across AWS, Azure, and GCP Guarantee uptime and system integrity for mission-critical chat operations (Mattermost) Automate cloud infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps Implement secure, compliant architectures aligned with DoD DevSecOps standards Collaborate across DevSecOps, Security, and Cloud Architecture teams Conduct R&D on scalability and performance during non-peak windows 🧠 What You Bring Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Istio, Helm, and GitOps Experience with custom CRDs, controllers, and operators Strong Linux and networking foundation Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD Familiarity with AWS / Azure / GCP CKA certification preferred 🏢 About Rackner Rackner is a cloud-native consultancy building next-generation systems across DevSecOps, AI/ML, and multi-cloud environments. - Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with cloud infrastructure automation
- Knowledge of DoD DevSecOps standards
Desired qualifications:
- CKA certification preferred
- Familiarity with AWS / Azure / GCP
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD
