Lead EHR Clinical Apps Analyst (Cadence, Prelude and Referrals), Remote - ITS-Enterprise Access

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of related experience. Must possess sufficient educational background and/or experience to conduct clinical applications analysis and/or programming of complex systems, analysis of clinical workflows, and system adoption strategies. An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position. Preferred Qualifications: Cadence, Prelude, and Referrals certification or accreditation, Community Connect experience. Job Summary: This position is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, optimization, maintenance, and support of complex clinical systems to improve in compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies. Clinical applications include any software application used in support of the clinical enterprise, including patient registration, patient billing, clinical documentation utilized in the ambulatory and inpatient settings, as well as applications for specific medical specialties such as, but not limited to, Radiology, Pathology, Oncology, Transplant, and Cardiology. Other responsibilities include providing advanced analysis and documentation, formulating logical statements of business and management problems to develop requirements for the configuration of clinical applications, and providing solutions to complex problems. This role requires an understanding of the assigned system applications, functions, and features that end-users would experience. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of clinical applications programming. Job Duties: Independently solves complex technical issues and/or prepares detailed specifications from which complex clinical programs are written. Analyzes and revises complex clinical system logic and documentation. Works on all phases of clinical application system analysis and/or programming activities. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation for complex clinical applications. Provides technical guidance and direction in the development, implementation, and maintenance of complex clinical information systems. Applies advanced analysis and documentation to look past the initial problem to understand the larger picture. Focuses on the whole clinical system/application and integration of systems. Provides technical planning and direction based on goals of the institution. Manages multiple complex activities within the scope of a project. Designs and/or modifies clinical plans and procedures, as appropriate, and follows project plans to ensure project success. Proactively partners with customers to understand and meet their needs. Demonstrates awareness and understanding of institution, department, and customer mission and goals. Functions as team and/or project leader, but also participates as a team member. As a project leader, interacts with executive sponsors, ensuring project charter and status updates are delivered at specified intervals to IS and other UTMB leadership. Recommends ways to improve productivity, reduce costs, enhance revenue, and maximize effectiveness of overall operations through automated solutions based on customer/user needs. Researches new technological solutions, verifies, and applies solutions of others and self. Identifies training needs for customer and team members. Serves as a role model/mentor to electronic health record (EHR) Clinical Applications Analysts and Senior EHR Clinical Applications Analysts. Works with all levels of staff as required for projects and is accountable for team outcomes. Serves as liaison with vendors and/or business partners and their products and services. Salary Range: Actual salary commensurate with experience. Work Schedule: Remote position. 8 am to 5 pm, and as needed on occasion.
