Role Description This is a remote opportunity for independent contractors who are experienced Court/Legal Transcribers to Prepare accurate court transcripts proceeding from audio
- Proofread transcripts for spelling, grammar, punctuation, speaker identification, and formatting consistency
- Verify legal terminology, case names, attorney names, exhibit references, and procedural language
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all case materials, client information, and privileged communications
- Meet assigned deadlines while maintaining high quality and accuracy
- Follow client-specific formatting instructions and jurisdictional transcript requirements
- Flag unclear audio, ambiguous speaker attribution, or questionable terminology for review.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years experience in court transcription, legal transcription, or related legal documentation work;
- Strong command of legal terminology, including common procedural, civil, criminal, and court-related terms;
- Excellent grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and listening; skills; Ability to identify speakers accurately in multi-speaker proceedings;
- Familiarity with court transcript formatting, Q&A format, colloquy, exhibits, objections, sidebar references, and off-the-record notations;
- Strong time-management skills and ability to work independently from home; Reliable computer, high-speed internet, transcription software, and foot pedal preferred;
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally. Apply To this Job
