[Remote] Business Development Manager - Polymers

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Company Confidential is seeking a Business Development Manager for their Polymers division. This role is responsible for generating and leading new sales efforts in existing and new markets, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop new products and market opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a deep understanding of new market and product opportunities
  • Establishes contacts and networks within key markets and industries as well as academic institutions to define market needs and facilitate discussion on technologies available to meet these needs. Feed new ideas to the GROW process
  • Validates the efficacy and value proposition of new offerings, as a Liaison between all functions, to solidify product scope, specifications / timing, regulatory, and costs of any new product development
  • Provides front line feedback where retooling or improving the offering is required or warranted
  • Provides insights to the marketing team regarding marketing collateral needs and utilizes this collateral to create industry awareness for the new offering
  • Leads cross functional team to scale up new opportunities
  • Serves as the company point person and champion at the customer during incubation/scale up
  • Collects and translates the voice of the customer to lead development of new product/market and service offerings that meet customer’s needs and wants
  • Leads training efforts for distribution channels involving new offerings
  • Reports account activity highlights, market intel, customer VOC and account plans for subsequent weeks
  • In partnership with the [project management/pricing} key stakeholders (marketing, product management, finance etc.) -recommend, negotiate, and implement pricing strategy - as agreed with the Sales Director

Skills

  • 5 years of experience successfully leading new sales in the polymer industry selling to Medical Device companies
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in a business team environment
  • Experience using innovative approaches to creating new product concepts
  • Experience with planning and delivering effective technical presentations to groups
  • Contract and financial acumen
  • Technical understanding of our technology and its end use applications
  • Establishes and cultivates relationships with potential customers and influencers
  • Communicates complex knowledge into a clear concise messaging for stakeholders at every level, both internally and externally
  • Comprehends market trends and helps shape the future of the product line
  • Utilizes marketing/chemistry skills to position new products for sale
  • Uses strong project management skills to plan and deliver the desired business outcome
  • Prioritizes multiple projects and delivers results
  • Collaborates effectively with a cross-functional team of suppliers and internal resources
  • Leads self and others to desired outcomes
  • Negotiates effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal presentation skills
  • Effective training and coaching skills
