[Remote] Head of Finance
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Hollow is a fast-growing DTC brand operating across multiple channels with ambitious growth plans. As the Head of Finance, you will own the financial heartbeat of the business, managing cash flow, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and strategic decision support. This role requires collaboration with leadership and department heads to ensure profitable decision-making and strong financial discipline.
Responsibilities
- Own daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasting across all brands and channels
- Maintain and improve the company’s financial models, dashboards, and reporting systems
- Build annual budgets and rolling forecasts in partnership with department leads
- Track actual performance vs budget and explain key variances with actionable recommendations
- Leverage AI tools and automation platforms to streamline financial workflows, improve reporting speed, enhance forecasting accuracy, and eliminate repetitive manual processes across the finance function
- Prepare weekly and monthly reporting on revenue, gross margin, contribution margin, profitability, and operating expenses
- Partner with Growth to align ad spend budgets with cash flow, CAC targets, and profitability goals
- Partner with Ops to align inventory purchases, launches, and retail expansion with financial plans
- Monitor liabilities, debt obligations, and upcoming cash risks; then propose mitigation plans
- Oversee vendor payment planning, invoice accuracy, and spend controls
- Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency
- Manage relationships with external accountants, banks, and financial partners
- Ensure organized records and readiness for audits, diligence, and tax filings
- Build scalable finance systems and processes that grow with the company
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, strategic finance, or similar roles
- Experience in DTC, e-commerce, retail, or consumer brands preferred
- Strong command of cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling
- Strong proficiency with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, automation platforms, etc.) and a demonstrated ability to apply them to improve workflows, increase efficiency, and elevate decision-making within finance
- Ability to translate financial data into clear recommendations for non-finance leaders
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Experience with financial systems such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, Shopify, Triple Whale, or similar tools
- Strong business judgment and understanding of unit economics, contribution margin, and growth efficiency
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable operating in a lean, high-growth environment with high ownership
