Remote Senior Insurance Underwriter
Our client, a rapidly growing national insurance provider, is actively seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Insurance Underwriter to join their esteemed underwriting team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home office anywhere in the US. The Senior Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and pricing complex insurance risks, primarily within the commercial lines sector. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing applications, determining policy terms and conditions, and ensuring profitable underwriting results. Key responsibilities include analyzing financial statements, reviewing loss history, and understanding industry-specific exposures to make sound underwriting decisions. You will also mentor and guide junior underwriters, contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and strategies, and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents. This role requires a deep understanding of insurance principles, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, coupled with strong communication and negotiation abilities, are essential. Proficiency in underwriting software and systems is expected. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive underwriting experience, a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, and relevant professional designations (e.g., CPCU, AU). You should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a diverse portfolio of accounts independently.
