Remote Weekend Billing Specialist – US Medical Shift
Job Summary Progressive Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Remote Weekend Billing Specialist to support our growing healthcare operations team. This role focuses on handling medical billing processes for US-based healthcare providers during weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate billing, timely claim submission, and compliance with US healthcare regulations while working remotely. As a Weekend Billing Specialist, you will collaborate with medical coders, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to maintain accurate patient billing records and resolve billing discrepancies. This role is ideal for professionals who have experience in US medical billing and enjoy working independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and payers. Review patient billing information and verify insurance coverage. Process electronic and paper claims using medical billing software. Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims. Identify billing discrepancies and correct errors in patient accounts. Communicate with insurance providers regarding claim approvals, denials, and reimbursements. Maintain compliance with US healthcare billing standards and regulations. Generate billing reports and update financial records regularly. Coordinate with coding teams to ensure correct CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes are used. Provide weekend support for urgent billing inquiries from healthcare clients. Required Skills and Qualifications Strong knowledge of US medical billing procedures and healthcare revenue cycle processes. Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards. Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple billing tasks simultaneously. Good understanding of insurance claim processing and reimbursement procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word. Experience Minimum 1–3 years of experience in US medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management. Experience working with US healthcare providers, clinics, or medical billing companies preferred. Prior experience in remote healthcare administrative roles is an advantage. Working Hours Saturday and Sunday shifts (Weekend role). US medical shift alignment (typically evening to night hours depending on the US timezone). Fully remote work environment with flexible scheduling within assigned shift hours. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of medical billing workflows and payer guidelines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare data privacy standards. Problem-solving mindset for handling claim denials and billing errors.
