This position is ideal for someone who thrives on automation, performance, and continuous improvement - and who wants to help shape the future of how media technology is delivered. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to integrate CI/CD, monitoring, and security into development workflows
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of our cloud-native and microservice-based architecture
  • Automate routine tasks to reduce manual effort and increase reliability in development, testing, and deployment
  • Provide guidance and best practices on containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)

Our Platform Environment:

  • Cloud: AWS & Azure (cloud-native, PaaS and serverless-first)
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps
  • Observability: New Relic, custom metrics, logging pipelines
  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes

Requirements:

  • 3+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related roles
  • Experience with CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps
  • Proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
  • Familiar with logging, metrics, and distributed tracing platforms (e.g., New Relic, CloudWatch)
  • Hands-on experience managing cloud-native environments (AWS and/or Azure)
  • Knowledge of secure DevOps practices and identity/access management
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and supporting developers directly
  • Passion for automation, developer productivity, and continuous delivery

Qualities for Success:

  • Highly collaborative and service-oriented
  • Curious and continuous learner
  • Strong attention to detail and operational excellence
  • Thrives in fast-paced, hybrid working environments
  • Aligned with Tegna's principles: outcome-focused, ownership-driven, and improvement-minded
