Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance The Student Affairs Specialist reports to the Manager, Student Affairs. Primary responsibilities include administration of student affairs procedures including Student Code of Conduct and supervising campus and program student life by providing oversight. Under the direction of the Manager, this position will develop, implement, and uphold programs specific to student conduct, designed to foster student success and satisfaction, and build a strong sense of community.

Responsibilities

Supervises campus and program student affairs (approximately 1-5 student workers) which includes monitoring quarterly budget utilization, planning for hiring and backfilling. Manage and adjudicate academic integrity cases by reviewing reported violations, conducting thorough assessments of evidence, applying institutional policies, and determining appropriate outcomes while ensuring consistency, fairness, and due process. Provide guidance to university leaders regarding policies and procedures managed by Student Affairs. Works in conjunction with the Student Affairs national team, campus, and online colleagues to develop relationships, in an effort to lead effective student development and engagement resources. Serves as a national administrator for all Chamberlain University programs, shares responsibilities for facilitation of hearing panel proceedings; providing support for effective and compliant educational and disciplinary processes; ensuring timely and accurate processing and documentation in management systems. Develops and deploys training and resources to support all online and campus and program leaders and colleagues, including student code of conduct. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships that facilitate cross-functional collaboration. Serves as a process manager for Student Affairs committees, including but not limited to Situational Intervention Team, Student Government Associations and Student Nurse Association and performs duties as assigned. Stays current on current industry standards regarding student affairs policy and guidelines from accrediting and regulatory bodies. Participates in committees and appropriate associations related to student affairs. Ensures students feel connected by encouraging student engagement through educational communications related to student affairs. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Required Bachelor's Degree in higher education administration, college student development, counseling, career services or related field Preferred 2+ years in higher education or student services or equivalent Required 2+ years in Higher Education including Student Affairs, Student Engagement, Regulation, and Accreditation or healthcare Preferred Knowledge of the methodology and procedures for the provision of student code of conduct (academic integrity & professional conduct) standards and processes Experience providing empathic support in escalated situations Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Strong organizational skills Strong PC skills, including Word and Outlook Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a matrixed organization Ability to give constructive, positive feedback to people of diverse professional and life backgrounds for professional development Comfortable presenting both one-on-one and delivering to a large group Additional Information In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $60,000.00 and $73,000.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
