Staff Backend Product Engineer | AI Observability & Agent Engineering | Remote | Up to $235k Base + Equity I’m working with one of the most exciting companies in the AI infrastructure space, helping engineering teams build, evaluate, and monitor production LLM and agent applications at scale. Backed by top-tier investors and trusted by leading enterprises including Uber, Booking.com, Siemens, and PepsiCo, this business is at the forefront of AI observability and agent engineering. Their platform enables teams to build, test, and run AI systems with confidence. They are now looking for a Staff Backend Product Engineer to take ownership of the distributed systems and data infrastructure powering some of the world’s most sophisticated AI teams. What you’ll be doing
- Building scalable backend services in Python and Go
- Designing distributed systems that process massive volumes of telemetry, evaluation, and inference data
- Developing APIs and platform capabilities that power AI observability and agent engineering workflows
- Improving reliability, performance, and scalability across core infrastructure
- Working closely with product, ML, and customers to shape the roadmap
- Driving architecture decisions and setting a high technical bar across the engineering team
What they’re looking for
- Staff-level backend engineering experience in high-growth startups or top-tier product companies
- Deep expertise in Python, Go, distributed systems, and cloud-native infrastructure
- Experience building AI, observability, analytics, or developer tooling products
- Strong product instincts and a proven track record of shipping from 0→1
- High agency, low ego, and a desire to solve complex technical problems
