Switchboard Operator & Receptionist (Fully Remote) Department: Personal Lines Operations Team Position Type: Short-Term Contract, Fully Remote Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Compensation: $17.77 - $18.05 per hour Position Overview Are you a positive, detail-oriented communicator who loves helping people? We are seeking a Switchboard Operator & Receptionist to join our Personal Lines Operations Team. In this fully remote role, you will be the first point of contact for our company, receiving inbound calls from agents, policyholders, business partners, and other parties. Your mission will be to provide a warm, professional greeting and efficiently route callers to their intended destinations. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Call Handling: Receive and manage inbound calls in a high-volume contact center environment.
  • Customer Service: Professionally greet callers with genuine care, patience, and appreciation.
  • Call Routing: Accurately interpret the caller’s needs and efficiently route them to the correct department or individual using our telephone switchboard system.
  • Inquiry Support: Respond directly to simple, straightforward inquiries.
  • Quality Excellence: Deliver highly positive experiences that align with our key performance metrics, quality standards, and customer experience goals.
  • Administrative Support: Perform basic administrative and clerical duties as needed to support the operations team.

Position Requirements

  • Experience: Up to 1 year of experience, preferably in a customer service, call center, or receptionist environment.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent telephone etiquette, active listening abilities, and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency navigating computers, software applications, and tools like MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: A positive outlook, strong organizational/time-management techniques, and a collaborative team-player mindset.
  • Commitment: Ability to fully commit to the entirety of the initial training program and work effectively within a structured operations environment.
