Tax Accountant- Contract
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Tax Accountant to help with a range of different clients currently on extension. The ideal canditate will have 1-2+ years tax preparation experience, be able to handle and manage their workflow under the supervision of the firm owner (who is also a CPA) for clients serviced. This will not be a client facing role and can be done remotely but the candidate must be able to work on site at times for live trainings and meetings. Duties
- Prepare individual and business related tax returns for a range of clients.
- Prepare client workpapers in excel.
- Organize all client file folders as information is provided for each engagement.
- Applying basic to Intermediate understanding of tax laws and/or forms.
- Handling monthly accounting/bookkeeping work for clients.
- Assist with attestation work, as needed.
Skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft 365 and Adobe PDF.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of Individual and Business tax law and forms.
- Experience reviewing business fianancial statements and preparing client workpapers in excel.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in all tasks
- Experience using Lacerte or Intuit Proconnect tax preparation software is a plus.
- Experience assisting with Review or Compilations a plus.
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
