Volunteer: Develop a 3-Year Fundraising and Development Strategic Plan

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. Our organization is less than 1 years old and have received small grants and sponsorships in the amount of $20,000. As the executive director of a startup organization, I dedicate 5-10 hours a week to startup activities and fundraising. I am at the point where I need a strategy created to assist me in reaching my 3-year goal of $1.4 million to over general operating, programs and grant making. I would like a volunteer to work with me in developing a 3-year fundraising / development plan to reach my goals. Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission and goals by providing an implementation plan that will allow us to raise the funds to kick-off our signature initiative to close the access to capital gap for low wealth entrepreneurs in a underresourced area. A plan will help us raise the funds to hire a contractor to manage the program and setup internal controls to track program metrics. I have a list of foundations whose giving pillars align with our mission, I have created a donor profile, and our marketing volunteer is creating donor messaging. No one on my committee has fundraising experience, therefore, there is buy-in and support of the 7 person committee to seek this type of support. Once the plan is developed, one committee member and I will implement the strategies. Economic Growth Strategies Foundation Mission: The Economic Growth Strategies Foundation exists to advance equitable entrepreneurship by equipping communities, organizations, and institutions with the strategies, tools, and partnerships needed to drive inclusive economic growth.
