AI-Driven Bookkeeper
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive, AI-driven Bookkeeper / Finance Operations Specialist who enjoys improving systems, removing manual work, and finding smarter ways to run finance operations. You will manage core bookkeeping and finance operations while actively using AI and automation to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency across the business. We are looking for someone who regularly thinks: How can this be automated or simplified? How can AI reduce manual work here? How can this process run faster and more accurately? What repetitive tasks can be eliminated? How can I improve how finance operations work? If you use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or automation platforms to improve your work, you will thrive in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Finance Operations Process daily financial transactions (receipts and payments) Maintain accurate cashbooks and loan-related financial records Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping Support month-end close and reporting activities AI, Automation & Process Improvement Identify opportunities to automate or simplify manual finance tasks Use AI tools to improve productivity and reduce repetitive work Build templates, workflows, prompts, and simple automations Continuously improve finance processes and systems Reconciliations & Controls Perform daily bank reconciliations Reconcile loan and clearing accounts Identify and escalate discrepancies quickly Maintain strong financial accuracy and control standards Loan & Treasury Support Support loan ledger maintenance and funding processes Assist with investor reporting and distributions Support payout calculations and finance ad-hoc tasks Ensure accuracy of loan and financial data What We’re Looking For Core Requirements Experience in bookkeeping, finance operations, lending, mortgage, or financial services Strong attention to detail and accuracy Comfortable working in fast-paced environments Strong organisational and execution skills Clear communication skills (written and verbal) Strong systems thinking and process awareness Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or automation tools) Ability to identify inefficiencies and improve workflows using AI Strong problem-solving and prompt-thinking ability Open to learning and experimenting with new tools Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for someone who is: Proactive and self-driven Curious about AI, automation, and efficiency Fast learner with strong initiative Able to work independently with minimal supervision Energetic, reliable, and confident Naturally improves systems instead of just following them Excited by ownership, growth, and continuous improvement Australian finance or mortgage experience is valuable, but attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn are equally important.
